We're a lotta bit country, a lil bit rock n roll...

From the team behind Niagara , and the creator of Lucinda’s , comes Wild Horses, a new cosmic country + western saloon opening on the Bowery — inspired by the highways, myths, migrations, and musical crosscurrents that carried country music ,from its birthplace, in the South, Westward.

Part honky tonk, part desert roadhouse, part Americana fever dream, Wild Horses draws from the Gold Rush and Dust Bowl migrations, the Bakersfield and Outlaw country movements, the old Hollywood singing cowboys, Sunset Strip counterculture, Deadhead Americana, desert mysticism, and the juncture where Gram Parsons introduced country music into counter culture consciousness.

With its mid-century decor, dark wood paneling, velvet paintings, vintage western memorabilia, and hand-embroidered Nudie Suits, Wild Horses feels less like a themed bar and more like stumbling onto a surviving relic of American music history.

At the spiritual center of the saloon is the bar’s Patron Saint: Gram Parsons — the visionary many credit with bringing country music to the California rock scene in the late 1960s, inspired and first recorded The Stone’s “Wild Horses”, and shaped what became known as “Cosmic American Music.”

“At Wild Horses, “Country & Western” is an evolving American folk tradition.“ says co-founder Kelley Swindall. “Where Lucinda’s focuses on the origins and Southern roots of Country and Blues, Horses follows that evolution westwards, where the OG Country fused with new sounds, landscapes, and cultures. Wild Horses is a celebration of this.”

Its home on the Bowery is by design…

Long before punk clubs, boutiques, and downtown nightlife, the Bowery was itself a historic corridor of immigrant saloons, music halls, and working-class nightlife. Wild Horses sees itself as part of that lineage: a present day gathering place for outsiders, musicians, artists, bikers, cowboys, drifters, and wanderers alike.

Featuring Live Music throughout the week, including weekly Country Folk Jams, Live Band and Piano Karaoke, Deadhead Sundays, Two Step Honky Tonk Nights, Sing Along Party Bands every Friday and Saturday Night, and more, Wild Horses is your go to for Zero Cover Entertainment and Vibes.

Our small kitchen is open til 2am Sun-Thurs, and features Barney’s Beanery inspired chili, empanadas, and southwestern bar bites.

A country saloon suspended somewhere between Bakersfield, Laurel Canyon, Joshua Tree, and old New York, Wild Horses is open and programmed to receive.
